Indonesia Became A Tourist Destination of Europe

 
 Tourist arrivals (tourists) to Indonesia continued to show positive growth. For example, a tourist from Europe and Japan now looks more and more visiting Indonesia.

Central Bureau of Statistics and the Center for Data and Information Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy shows growth of a significant number of foreign tourists. Growth during May 2013 rose to 7.65 percent compared to the same period last year.



Growth in the number of visits in May 2013 period is largely influenced by the growing number of tourists from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia who came to Indonesia. Among the 16 main markets targeted Kemenparekraf, tourists from Australia increased 4.7 percent (75,031 tourists).


Meanwhile, the Taiwanese tourists increased by 21.1 per cent (52 632 people); tourists from Singapore increased by 8.5 per cent (108 160 inhabitants); Malaysian tourists accounted for an increase in the number of tourists by 115 899, and Japan has increased the number of travelers as much as 35 073.

"After the tsunami disaster last March 2011, tourists from Japan continued to grow from year to year. In fact, in the period January to May 2013, the numbers show an increase of 10.3 percent. This number is quite significant when compared to an increase in the number of visits in the previous year which only reached 3.83 percent, "said Mari Elka Pangestu, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.
